Homebrew Wood Golem Species Details

Golem Origin

Wood Golems can be a lot of things, either collection of flexible branches, an awakened tree, a collective of colorful wooden blocks, Wood Golems are in some way or another connected to nature. They have an appreciation for life and are often times helping people and animals alike wherever they go, but will still serve their creators regardless of personal beliefs. A Wood Golem's creator is usually a Druid or Hag, somebody magically capable that has use for a tool such as a Golem.

Wood Golem Names

Wood Golems usually have little to no choice in their own names, instead being decided on either the Golem's purpose or the creator's own idea of what a good name is. Most often times a name is influenced by where the creator originates from.

Wood Golem Traits

Your Wood Golem character gains certain racial abilities.

Ability Score Increase

Your Constitution  score increases by 2, and your Wisdom score increases by 1.

Age

Wood Golems can live forever, provided their condition is maintained properly. Is not maintained properly, they are likely to expire in about 10 years.

Size

A Wood Golem's size is Medium. Most Golems stand between 6 and 7 feet tall. However, weight and build are affected by the Golem's purpose.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Artificial Creature

Wood Golems are classified as Constructs. Immune to Poison and Psychic damage, immune to disease and exhaustion. However, all healing by potions or spells is half as effective on you. Mending works on you like the Cure Wounds spell.

Nature's Prodigy

You gain proficiency in the nature skill.

Immutable Form

Your form cannot be altered or changed by magic. Examples of this are: Polymorph, Alter Self, or Dispel Magic not having any effect on your body.

Wooden Shell

Your minimum armor class becomes 15. You are vulnerable to fire damage.

Languages

You understand Common, and whatever languages your creator spoke.
