Homebrew Aagaar Dworf (by Baskerevil) Species Details
The Old Temple within the Voidlands
Far away from all other realms and planes, there is a fading world. This world is bleak and cruel, but also somehow fair. It follows the natural law of survival of the fittest, and some of those survivors are known as Aagaar Dworves.
Voidlands has a massive jungle and in there there exists an old temple. It is constantly being swallowed by the land and the jungle, however, this temple is not an ordinary construction. Tens of thousands of years ago five tribes of dwarves ended up in the Voidlands. To survive, they started building a settlement of their own, and they ended up building a temple for themselves to live in and also to worship any god who would offer them assistance. No god answered, at first. However, eventually a dragon god turn her eye upon these dwarves. She sent several dragons into this faraway realm to rule over these dwarven tribes, but instead dwarves and dragons started mixing, creating descendants with legacy of both.
Children of Dragons
Aagaar Dworves technically are half-dragons, however, the last pure dragon ancestor of theirs might reside five or six generations in the past. Though, either due to isolation or because of strange nature of the Voidlands, these individuals retained strong connection to both dragon and dwarven ancestors. Though, they lack the ability to breath out elemental energies like true dragons, however, in the heat of battle they can still invoke elemental might to empower their strikes.
Pride and Strength
Aagaar Dworves are very prideful, values strength and typically are very territorial. They venerate the the old temple their ancestors built and slowly expand it underground. They also try to battle against the jungle above ground, and sometimes travel the land searching for resources. However, the most progression of their race happens underground, in the mines and tunnels where they are under constant threat from various underground enemies. Constant battle is their daily life, thus they value strength the most.
Being related both to dragons and dwarves, Aagaar Dworves do not see themselves as simply any of those. They do not wish or like being called or related by others to any of two species. They hold quite a lot of pride in their uniqueness and being called as "half-something" takes away from the unique nature of who they are, at least in their mind. Trying to call them as anything else but how they call themselves could be easily interpreted as an insult and Aagaar Dworves do not forgive insults.
