Homebrew Zahnradern Species Details

The Zahnradern, or Gear Folk, are finely crafted mechanical beings who are given life by sheer emotion. It's said the first Zahnradern was made by a despairing watch smith after losing his daughter, the sheer skill, detailing, and emotion poured into making a mechanical copy of his daughter gave birth to a new soul born from the plane of clockwork order, Mechanus. Zahnradern are rare beings made in high emotion situations, despite being rarely seen the documentation on them is rather extensive. Zahnradern appear to look similar to humans but with a few differences their 'skin' appears to be a pale white color, balled joints making up all of their joints, but fitting into the plates that make up their arms, legs, and body almost seamlessly with very little room, if any, for anything to get inside of the joint. They have artificial hair that ranges in style and length, though the color always has a metallic tone to it often shimmering in bright light. A Zahnradern's eyes appear to be normal at a casual glance, but closer inspection reveals that the inner working of their eyes are carefully made mechanical irises often with unique blends of metallic colors. The most important feature of a Zahnradern is their key, every Zahnradern has a unique key that forms in their back when they are granted life. This key is a metal windup key, with unique embellishments, inlays, engravings that are unique to that Zahnradern and that one only.
