Homebrew Zombied slimes Species Details

 Zombied slimes, previously considered a useless subspecies of slime, were named as such to warn adventurers of their horrifying power. Myths of their abilities to take over any body is exaggerated however as the body needs to be a freshly dead corpse and not too much larger than the slime itself. Only discovered after a scholar witnessed one take over their brother, these slimes often go unnoticed in daily life, those with and without hosts. Only truly identified by an ability that sticks out like a sore thumb if used. Zombied slimes aren’t common by any stretch, so most humans will not recognize it as special in any way.

once a zombied slime finds a freshly dead corpse and reanimates it in near perfect condition. After gaining all the experiences from its victim, it permanently binds itself to that victim, where it often takes a similar personality to the original host due to its usual subpar intelligence. They will also often take the alignment of their host. This is however one of the very few slimes with known genders, as more often than not, hosts who were previously very comfortable with their existence might begin openly questioning their gender. Edges of the host’s eyes and hair (for mammalian) or scales (for reptilians) or spots (for amphibians) will be tinted the same color as the slime, the longer the slimes lived in the host, stronger the hue.

life expectancy will remain the same and the slime will die when it’s host dies. The host also instantly becomes resistant to the slimes corrosion, only usually having leftover corrosion marks from where the slime entered the body for the first time.

The false re-animation of the dead being often drives many parents to find one of these slimes and attach it to their child as to bring them back to life in a relatively affordable manner. This technique works well, but is highly taboo.

The creature will always gain the following feature

- slime aversion: oozes will never be hostile towards you unless attacked

the host will most often be normal except for one added trait to replace one of their racial features

- total Slime aversion: evil aligned monsters will not attack you if they wouldn’t normally attack an ooze

- Goo switch: choose to have any attack deal 1/2 damage to self in exchange for the next attack dealing double damage to self

- Corrosive pours: regular sweat turns thin and gooey giving all melee attacks a poison modifier
