Homebrew Braveheart Species Details

TRIED AND TRUE WARRIORS

Bravehearts resemble tall, muscular humanoids with the head, claws and fur of a lion. They constantly keep themselves maintained, with males valuing their manes similar to the way dwarves value their beards. They are a strong race who will never back down from a fight, and will always be warriors for peace.

COMMONPLACE CREATURES

While their initial look may seem intimidating, bravehearts are very friendly folk. They enjoy the company of others, laugh and dance with great enthusiasm, and can never refuse a hearty feast. They are always flamboyant and loud, sometimes arrogant but usually not to a detrimental degree. When a braveheart enters a tavern, everybody knows its presence.

NAMES

Bravehearts choose their own names, usually based around their own certain actions or personality. They don't usually differ with gender, since they see either sex as equally powerful and not needing to differentiate the two.

Braveheart names: Bearkilller, Fearcrusher, Headbreaker, Longfighter, Moonfighter, Rightbringer, Undying, Warmonger

Braveheart Traits

Bravehearts are similar to each other in their looks and personality, however each one can sometimes have a certain look or way of acting that distinguishes them from their kin.

Ability Score Increase

Your Strength score increases by 2, and your Charimsa score increases by 1.

Age

Bravehearts aren't particularily concerned with their own longevity (they prefer to die fighting over natural causes). As a result, it's not entirely known how long they can truly live. They consider themselves adults around the ages of 20, and claim to have a lifespan similar to humans.

Alignment

Bravehearts are prideful and will always choose to fight for the greater good. They consider the safety of others a very high priority, and as a result tend towards lawful alignments. Most of them are also good or neutral, and while an evil braveheart is possible, it's almost entirely unheard of.

Size

Bravehearts are tall, usually standing just over seven feet in height. Your size is Medium.

Superior Bravery

With the spirit of the lion within you, you fear nothing. No monster can make you shudder, nor can any foe make you back down. As a result, you are immune to the frightened condition.

You count as one size larger when determining the amount  of weight you can push, pull, drag or lift.

Bite

Born to hunt, you have a strong jaw lined with sharp teeth. You can bite as an unarmed Strike you are proficient with, dealing 1d6 + your Strength modifier in piercing damage on a hit.
