Homebrew Axolotlborn Species Details

Distant cousins of the grungs, Axolotlborn are amphibious salamander-like humanoids found in tropical marshes and rainforests. Community-minded and highly-attuned to their environment, Axolotlborn see themselves as stewards and protectors of the natural world.

Axolotlborn are easily recognized by their distinctive gills, which present as frilled tentacles extending from their head.  Axolotlborn take great pride in their gills and are as much an expression of personality as hair is in other species.

As an Axolotlborn, you have these special traits.

Amphibious Nature

You are equally at home on land as in the water.  Your swim speed is equal to you walking speed.  While under water, you can absorb oxygen through your gills and do not need to breathe.  

Innate Regeneration

Whenever you receive healing (through natural means or through magic), add an additional 1D4 to the HP you gain.   This additional healing increases by 1d4 when you reach character levels 5 (2d4), 11 (3d4), and 17 (4d4). Your healed wounds do not scar.  You can also regenerate severed limbs and assimilate transplanted organs and/or limbs from other axolotlborn.   The regeneration process requires a number of hours equal to 24 divided by your character level. 

Disease Resistance

You have Resistance to necrotic damage.
