Homebrew Cheese Grater 2 electric boogaloo, reforged, fixed... Species Details

*silence*

— some cheese grater probably

In the far away reaches of lands unknown, in a kitchen somewhere you can hear the silent screams of a piece of cheese being carved to shreds.
These are the hunting grounds for a tiny and shiny creature.

Made of ten percent handle, twenty percent shred, fifteen percent puns that make you wish you were dead,
five percent magic, fifty percent might, and a hundred percent reason to play Cheese grater tonight!

... yes, this the Cheese Grater playable specie.
If you thought this would be written in a serious manner then i don't know how you managed to get here.

Sharp and metallic

Perforated and light, Cheese graters are known for their silent and inconspicuous appearance. Why would a piece of metal move?
It is disputed what truly is the origin of the cheese graters. some say it is the result of a forever DM with too much time on their hands,
others say it is a story from one if their players childhood. as the DM with too little free time to spend on writing this article, i think it is the latter,
but you can of course do with this class as you wish. like, i am writing a cheese grater as a playable specie, who tf am i to enforce your backstory in any way what so ever.

Cheese Grater Traits

AGE
Like all other metal tings, cheese graters wear down and weathers over time, but their life can be indefinitely extended simply by somebody casting mending on them every few years.
If not repaired or looked after it only lasts 30-50 years.

WEIGHT
A cheese grater weights between 0.5 and 2 lbs., but averages on about 1.3lbs

SIZE
A cheese grater is 1 to 2 feet tall. your size is tiny (taking up 1/8 of a regular square.)

ALLIGNMENT
THEY ARE ALL EVIL!!!! jk... dude, it is a cheese grater, if you already are walking far enough from the players' handbook to play a cheese grater, why on earth would you follow whatever alignment I enforce on it?
Play it. Enjoy it. Have fun :)

Cheese Grater 2 electric boogaloo, reforged, fixed... Traits

have you ever wanted to completely mess up the enemy team, well have i got the race for you!

blind but telepathic

You do not inherently have any senses, unless specified from other sources. However, you read the mind of others to sense through them.
You can telepathically perceive through every sentient creature within 30 ft. this includes both friend and foe, and does not require consent.
Every time you do an ability check or save using senses (perception, investigation, insight) you make somebody else roll for you using their stats.

Simply meaning everything everyone around you can sense, you can see too.

Whoever you choose to do the check/ability, can choose to automatically fail any check done using their senses.

Grate weapon fighting

You have the ability to shred your opponent using yourself.

Gratings Traveler. you attempt to shred somebody using your body.
this attack counts as both a light melee weapon attack, and an unarmored strike.
this attack is finesse and light.

If your target is wielding you, you have advantage against that target with this attack.

small stature

due to your small stature, you have an advantage when hiding (even in plain sight) creatures can pick you up without thinking you are what is stalking them.

grater metal body

your metal make up grants you higher constitution

YOU TOOL!

YOU TOOL! YOU ABSOLUTE TOOL!

Tool. Yes, you. You are a tool. You are made to be practical, so you can be used to grate effect as a weapon.
Other creatures (both friend and foe) can interact with you, the same way they would with any other object.

That being said, you still counts as a creature, so just stop the mere thought of rules-lawyering about how "you are an object, not 'technically' a creature, so you cannot be targeted by attacks." You are both.

Pick me up. Any willing creature (both foe and friend) within reach has the ability to pick you up, equip you, and use you as a simple weapon.
When wielding you, they count you as a dagger.

Escaping a wielder. You can use your action to make a Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check against your wielder’s Strength (Athletics) check, ending the condition on itself on a success. The condition also ends if your wielder has the Incapacitated condition or if the distance between you and the wielder exceeds the wielder’s melee range.

Grater strike. Your wielder can spend their action to use your "Gratings Traveler" (the weapon attack one that is also an unarmed strike) ability as if it was their ability.
When they do, it doesn't count as an unarmed strike for them... since you are their, weapon...

I Cast Cheese Grater! When your wielder use you to do a weapon attack you can expend your reaction to make a helping action for your wielder,
or make the weapon attack automatically miss. If you are thrown, you are moved to where you were thrown. If your wielder miss, you land within 5ft. (in a direction of your choice,) from intended target.

Construct

You do not require air, food, drink, or sleep. Instead, you enter a restful state, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. While resting, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are
reflexive mental exercises inherent to your consciousness. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.

Spell Components?? What do you mean i need Verbal and Somatic components???

Well... how do I say this.... uhm... I don't grant you hands, nor do I grant you a mouth to talk.

That being said, you are telepathic.
You can make a willing creature of your choice within 30 feet perform the Verbal and/or Somatic components for you. This does not cost them any actions.
If you do, any spell you cast that doesn't have the range of "self" (or something saying that it can only be cast on yourself), will originate from the one who performed your somatic and/or verbal component. If the creature you choose is unwilling, then you don't get no Verbal nor Somatic spell component. too bad.

Telepathetic

Telepathetic Utterance. You cannot speak, but you can "speak" telepathically to any creature you can see within 60 feet of yourself. Your telepathic utterances are in a language you know, and the creature understands you only if it knows that language. Your communication doesn’t give the creature the ability to respond to you telepathically.

Languages

Your character knows at least two languages: Common plus one language you roll or choose from any language your DM allows you to know. Knowledge of a language means your character can communicate in it, read it, and write it. Your class and other features might also give you language.
