Homebrew Devaki Species Details

Devaki

The enigmatic Devaki are a mysterious race, sharing many physical traits with humans but bearing distinct and unsettling differences. Most notably, the Devaki lack facial features—no eyes, ears, mouths, or noses adorn their smooth visages. Despite this, they navigate the world with an uncanny awareness, seemingly untethered to the limitations of mortal senses.

Standing at an impressive height ranging from 6 feet to 8 feet 5 inches, Devaki are tall and willowy in stature. Their bodies are always remarkably slender, giving them an almost ethereal appearance. This lanky frame does not hinder them but rather adds to their otherworldly aura.

Devaki are extraordinary beings that require no sustenance to survive. Neither food nor water fuels their existence, and their tireless bodies are immune to exhaustion. They can live up to 200 years, and their long lives are marked by sharp intellect and keen wisdom. Though their culture values knowledge and reason, their outward demeanor is one of stoic pacifism.

Despite their typically peaceful nature, Devaki are not to be trifled with. They are capable of holding deep grudges against those who wrong them, sometimes for decades. Though not quick to anger, crossing a Devaki is unwise, as their resentment can be as enduring as their lives.

Culturally, the Devaki shun adornments of vanity, including hair. While they are capable of growing it, they choose to shave themselves bald as a mark of cultural identity and discipline. They value simplicity and enlightenment, often dedicating their time to scholarly pursuits or meditation.

Adventurers who encounter Devaki are often struck by their inscrutable nature, towering height, and boundless patience. These beings hold secrets of the ages within their minds, making them both fascinating allies and formidable adversaries.
