Homebrew Bloodhare Stalkers Species Details
Shrouded in mystery and whispered about in fearful tones, Bloodhare Stalkers are a rare species that combines the agility and cunning of rabbits with the supernatural ferocity of lycanthropy. They are lithe and deceptively strong, using their speed and stealth to hunt under the cover of night. Their cursed origin and predatory nature make them feared by most, though not all Bloodhares are bound to their darker instincts.
Bloodhare Stalkers Traits
Racial Traits:Ability Score Increase
Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Wisdom increases by 1.
Alignment
Bloodhare Stalkers tend toward chaotic alignments, driven by their instincts and curse. Some embrace their darker tendencies, while others fight to uphold a personal moral code.
Darkvision
Thanks to your lycanthropic heritage, you can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Leaping Stride
Your powerful legs allow you to jump with incredible ease. When you make a long jump, you can cover a distance up to your Strength score + 10 feet, and your high jump can reach up to 5 feet + your Strength modifier. You do not need a running start for either jump.
Predator’s Instincts
You gain proficiency in the Stealth skill.
Bloodhunt Sense
You have an uncanny ability to track prey. As a bonus action, you can focus on a creature you can see within 60 feet. Until the end of your next turn, you have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) and Wisdom (Survival) checks to find or track that creature. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
Predatory Pounce
When you move at least 20 feet straight toward a creature and hit it with a melee weapon attack or unarmed strike on the same turn, the target must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier) or be knocked prone.
Bloodmoon Transformation
Starting at 3rd level, you can unleash the full power of your lycanthropic curse. As a bonus action, you can transform into your Bloodhare form for 1 minute. In this form, you gain the following benefits:
- Your unarmed strikes deal 1d6 slashing damage, and you can use Dexterity instead of Strength for attack and damage rolls.
- You gain temporary hit points equal to your level.
- You can make an unarmed strike as a bonus action.
Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and Sylvan.
