The Astrai are a rare and enigmatic race, said to be born of celestial phenomena or remnants of ancient cosmic power. Their shimmering skin glows faintly, reflecting their connection to the universe’s energy. Often considered ethereal and otherworldly, Astrai are deeply attuned to the mysteries of the cosmos and are natural explorers, philosophers, and diplomats. Physical Appearance
Astrai are a very varied race, appearance-wise. Like humans, their skin tone varies greatly although they all have a faint, star-like shimmer that becomes more pronounced in dim lighting. Their eyes - blue, green, turquoise, grey or sometimes purple - glow faintly with hues of gold, silver or violet, often resembling distant galaxies or nebulae. Again, like humans, Astrai's height and build vary greatly.

Astrai are inherently curious and introspective. They are drawn to exploration - whether of the physical universe or the depths of their own minds. Their communities are small and close-knit, often built in remote locations beneath the open sky, where they can feel connected to the stars.

Despite their inclination for peace, Astrai are not defenceless. Their ability to manipulate energy and their keen intuition make them formidable when their loved ones or beliefs are threatened.

Age: Astrai mature at the same rate as humans but can live up to 200 years.
Alignment: Astrai tend towards neutral alignments, with a desire for balance and understanding. However, their inherent curiosity sometimes leads them down unpredictable paths.
Size: Astrai are Medium, typically ranging between 5 and 7 feet tall.
Speed: Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Shimmering Presence:
Your star-kissed skin emits a soft glow, shedding dim light in a 5-foot radius. You can suppress or activate this glow at will (no action required).
Cosmic Energy Manipulation:
You can tap into the latent cosmic energy within you:
- You know the light cantrip.
- At 3rd level, you can cast faerie fire once per long rest.
- At 5th level, you can cast calm emotions once per long rest.
Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Astrai possess an innate sense for reading people and situations. You gain proficiency in one of the following skills: Insight, Perception, or Arcana.
