Homebrew Arachni Species Details
Arachni are the offspring of a Drider and another species. Due to the Drider's reclusive nature, Arachni are extremely rare to find. Arachni often live in exile within the Underdark and are determined to find a better life for themselves elsewhere. The Spider Queen Lolth views Arachni as a defiance of her curse placed upon the Driders she creates. She does not often allow the creation of an Arachni to go unpunished.
Most Arachni are characterized by their survival instincts and use the inherited residuum of Lolth's curse to adapt to their environment.
Arachni have no distinct culture of their own, but may partake in customs and practices of either parent.
Creature Type: Humanoid
Size: Medium (about 4–7 feet tall) or Small (about 2–4 feet tall), based on their Non-Drider genetics.

Arachni Traits
As an Arachni, you have these special traits.Curse of the Spider Queen
On each long rest, you can choose one of the following set of abilities provided by your inherited curse.
Arachnid's Anatomy:
- You have innate Spider Climb, not requiring concentration.
- You gain Grasping Webs
- You can cast Web once per long rest.
- You can spend your reaction to halve falling damage once per long rest.
Spider's Sense:
- You gain Tremorsense up to 30ft.
- You gain advantage on Dexterity Saving Throws.
- You gain advantage on Acrobatics Checks
- You can use your reaction during surprise rounds.
Widowmaker:
- You can coat your weapon in venom, dealing 2d8 poison damage on a hit. The creature must make Constitution Save DC == (8 + CON + Proficiency Bonus) or become poisoned until the end of your next turn. Members of the opposite sex have disadvantage on their saving throw. You may use this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
- You can spin your webs to cast Hypnotic Pattern once per day. Members of the opposite sex have disadvantage on their saving throw.
- You can bite an enemy with your fangs as a bonus action.
Self Preservation
You gain proficiency in the Survival Skill.
