Homebrew Agorai Species Details

When hags have children, the female offspring become hags. Males typically become hagspawn. But the five most powerful hags give birth to what are known as Agorai. Agorai are always male and adopt traits of their mother in power. They are born from Red Hags, Sea Furies, Annis Hags, Blood Hags, and Night Hags.

Hag-Like

These children often appear to look like humans, drow, goliaths, light skinned orcs, or water genasi based on which hag is their mother.. However, they always have a skin tone that matches the Hag mother. In height, they are often the same height as their father's race. They range from under 5 feet to about 8 feet tall, and from 100 to 250 pounds, and are all male. Agorai do have facial hair, and grow beards to hide their sharpened teeth. They're eyes tend to glow in neon colors like blue, green, and pink.

Red Agorai

Red Agorai are the sons of Red Hags. They are very sociable, just like their mothers. Unlike the other Agorai, Red Agorai will seek out a relationships with red hags from other covens to combine the two covens by marriage. Most male agorai's fathers are also Red Agorai. It is believed the first red agorai's father was a human man. Their skin is always different shades of red.

Annis Agorai

Annis Agorai come from Annis Hags. These hags tend to mate with male goliaths. Due to similar skin color, the Agorai ,when born, stay with their fathers. They look just like goliaths, except for their neon eyes. However, goliaths view this as a gift from the gods. Due to this, the Annis Goliaths are often appointed to the roll of Shaman for the Goliath Herds. Unlike Red Agorai, Annis Agorai usually have no interest in finding Annis Hags and will typically find Goliath partners.

Blood Agorai

Blood Agorai are the offspring of Blood Hags. Blood Hags, like most types of hags eat other children to start the process of having their own children. When they have an Agorai, they become enraged by not giving birth to a female hag. They will often through out the Blood Agorai, and due to it having light greenish skin will leave it with an orc band. The orcs will raise it to be a shaman for their religious practices, but the Agorai will be forced to live just outside the rest of the raiding camp. Blood Agorai tend to be the outcasts and will leave the orc band to go out on their own. They almost always seek relationships with wood elves or orcs. They will often run or fight any blood hags they cross, but will never seek out a confrontation with the Hag. 

Night Agorai

Night Agorai come from the Night Hags. Night hags will have found the only way to have Agorai is to mate with drow, any other way and males always become hagspawn. Unlike the other Agorai, Night Agorai are born with a dark desire to seek out and murder Night Hags. Due to this Night Hags will give their babies to the Drow father to raise. Some drow will believe that the baby is blessed by Lolth. The Drow who recognize the Agorai will have the child trained in magical arts when old enough. Either way the Night Agorai is treated well by the drow and considered a valued resource. Night Agorai, however crave to find and kill hags of any kind and will leave to do so, with or without the Drow's permission. 

Sea Agorai

Sea Agorai come from the Sea Furies. The Sea Agorai's fathers are often sailors who are eaten after the Sea Fury gets pregnant. Sea Furies are Sea Hags that grew more powerful by eating other Sea Hags. The lesser Sea Hags grew to believe that devouring a Sea Agorai will also boost their powers. Due to this, Sea Furies will often send their Agorai away from them once they reach adulthood. The Sea Agorai resembles a Water Genasi and will stay on the surface until its strong enough to return to the sea. When they do, they often live in underwater cities of Sahagin, merfolk, Water Genasi, or Tritons. They prefer to live with Water Genasi due to their similar look and size.

Agorai Names

Agorai use either their father's races naming conventions. As if to emphasize that they don’t really fit in to either society, Most Agorai, except for Red, tend to stay isolated and take names that are supposed to startle or upset normal folk.

Hag Ancestry

You gain an Eldritch Power due to your Hag Mother's blood and an ability score increase.

Age

Agorai mature at the same rate humans do and reach adulthood around the age of 15. They live much longer than humans, however, often exceeding 480 years.

Size

Agorai are about the same size as humans, ranging from 5 to 6 feet tall. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Darkvision

Thanks to your hag blood, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Fey Ancestry

You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.

Hag Brew

Due to your hag blood you have proficiency with a Herbalism Kit and Poisoner's Kit. 

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common, Giant, and one extra language of your choice.

Hag Magic

Choose a cantrip and 1st level spell from the warlock spell list. You may cast the 1st level spell once a long rest. At level 3 choose a second level spell that you can cast once per long rest. You use Charisma as your spellcasting modifier.
