When determining your character’s ability scores, increase one of those scores by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or increase three different scores by 1. Follow this rule regardless of the method you use to determine the scores, such as rolling or point buy.

The “Quick Build” section for your character’s class offers suggestions on which scores to increase. You’re free to follow those suggestions or to ignore them. Whichever scores you decide to increase, none of the scores can be raised above 20.

Your character can speak, read, and write Common and one other language that you and your DM agree is appropriate for the character. The Player’s Handbook offers a list of widespread languages to choose from. The DM is free to add or remove languages from that list for a particular campaign.

You are a Monstrosity.

Your walking speed is 30 feet, and you have a climbing speed equal to your walking speed.

Starting at 3rd level, you can cast the web spell with this trait. Once you cast web with this trait, you can’t cast this spell with it again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast either of those spells using any spell slots you have of the appropriate level.

Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for this spell when you cast them with this trait (choose when you select this race). None of these spells require spell components when you cast them with this trait.

You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You discern colors in that darkness only as shades of gray.

You have a fanged maw that you can use to make unarmed strikes. When you hit with it, the strike deals 1d6 + your Strength modifier piercing damage  + 1d4 poison damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

The Arachne ignores movement restrictions caused by webbing.

You gain proficiency with Weaver's Tools. You can create 10 feet of silk once per long rest.
