Homebrew Dairne Species Details

Dairnes are a mysterious and powerful race. With the ability to tell if someone is lying, the Murdano ordered dairnes to be wiped out. He realized that the ability to tell if someone is lying is powerful when one person holds the power. A young dairne named Byx stopped the Murdano and saved the species from extinction.

Age

Dairnes mature at the same age as humans, and live about as long as them.

Description

Dairnes have soft, silky fur, a pouch on their stomach, and glissiares: skin-like flaps that appear when they spread their arms.

Dairne Traits

Dairnes can smell newly cut grass from twenty miles away, glide for short distances, and hold small objects in their stomach pouches.

Glissiares

Dairnes can glide using flaps underneath their arms. They can glide for up to 100 feet on wind, and on hot air, they can glide 500 feet.

Truth-telling

Dairnes are able to (somewhat easily) discern lies from the truth. In order to tell the difference, you must roll a wisdom check. If 10 or higher, you can tell if they are lying or telling the truth. If 9 or lower, you must roll again once more. If 9 or lower on the last roll, you are convinced that they are telling the truth.
