Homebrew Borrower Species Details

A mouse like fae that lives in homes, buildings, or wilds. They are 3 to 6 inches tall and can live up to 150 years, having mouse-like traits like ears and tails, but can be both, either, or look humanoid. They are rarely seen by humanoids due to the laws of their society, but some work with humanoids or live among them in disguise using magic items.

Though they seem meek and shy, they are adventurous and daring, often in dangerous situations or places that require a steady hand and a good leap or two to keep their tails. The rules every borrower knows are these:

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Intelligence score increases by 1.

 

Keen Senses

You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.

 

Darkvision

You have a keen sense of your surroundings. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of yourself as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Small Frame

Your tiny size allows you to hide easily. You can attempt to hide even when you are only lightly obscured.

 

Skittering Movement

 You have a climbing speed of 15 feet, and you can move through the space of any creature that is one size larger than you.
