Homebrew Ashbourne Species Details
At age 100 Ashbourne start adulthood, and that lasts for 300 years, until old age kicks in. The average Ashbourne lives to be 400 years of age, and then upon death, their bodies decompose into ash.
Ashbourne are all handsome in nature due to their creation to honor the Dark God Aabaddon. They were formed in his image and used to worship him during the War Against Light, but after the Dark Gods were enveloped by The Arclight they slowly over time turned from his worship. Now, they are a quiet, reserved society who roam the Ashlands training, hunting, and gathering. Rarely does an Ashbourne leave their village, known as Tear'Magnor in the Ashen tongue, though once a century a Seeker is selected. Seekers are tasked to travel across the solar system to gather knowledge and information on current events, and then return to the village. Seekers are chosen at age ten, at the start of adulthood, and then do not return for 200 years. It is important to note most Seekers never return.
The Ashbourne are not known to many. They regularly trade with those of the Grimmhold Monastery high up in the Ebonspine Mountains, but that is it. Only the Seekers have brought knowledge of their existence to other worlds, but they are so few that they are regarded as myth. Those who do know of them, however, do note their incredible companionship with the Phoenix. Elders of the Freljord refer to them as Phoenix Brother's, but often in mythical tales. Ashbourne all have a unique Phoenix that travels to them at their birth. It does not die until they do. Whenever a phoenix is destroyed in combat its ashes are collected and the Phoenix is reborn from them.
