Homebrew Dax Species Details
The Dax are gender-less beings that are suffused with a reflection of the natural world. The Dax are at once incredibly suspicious of outsiders and their intentions but desperately curious about other ways of life and other peoples. With bodies made of leaves, roots or other growth they are a sight to behold by other races.
Dax Traits
The Dax are suspicious and curious plant based humanoids prone to warfare and endlessly curious about the societies of other humanoidsAbility Score Increase.
When determining your character’s ability scores, increase one score by 2 and increase a different score by 1, or increase three different scores by 1. You can't raise any of your scores above 20.
Alignment
Independent and self-reliant, Dax tend toward a neutral or chaotic neutral alignment.
Natural Connection
You gain proficiency with two of the following skills of your choice:
Animal Handling, Nature, Perception, Stealth, and Survival.
Blindsight.
You can perceive your surroundings thanks to your senses. You can perceive your surroundings without relying on sight within a specific radius. You have a blindsight range of 60 feet but are blind beyond this radius and when isolated from any plant life this radius shrinks to 20 feet. Your blindsight replaces normal vision.
Acid Resistance.
You have resistance to acid damage
Sleepless
You do not require sleep and can choose to remain conscious during a long rest, though you must still refrain from strenuous activity to gain the benefit of the rest.
