Chiroptera have a slender and agile build. Their skin is covered in fur, thickness dependent on species. Fur often takes on a dark hue, ranging from deep purples, blues, and browns to black, mimicking the shadows of their subterranean home.

Their eyes are large and expressive, with dark, reflective irises adapted to low light conditions. Color can be dependent on species. One of the most prominent features of the Chiroptera is their bat-like wings, which extend from their arms, attached near the wrists. These wings are webbed and span wide, providing them with the ability to glide through the air. The wings are often adorned with intricate patterns or membrane designs unique to each individual. Chiroptera possess elongated ears that resemble those of bats, providing them with enhanced hearing abilities. Some individuals have varying facial features sizes, such as a small or long snout and sharp teeth. Their fingers and toes have retractable or permanently out claws, useful for gripping surfaces while gliding or climbing.
