Homebrew Albatross Species Details

But it’s all nonsense. The problem is, you’re smart. You see the storms brewing and you leave before things get bad. It’s not like you don’t give warning. Usually, you just get ignored, and then blamed! It really isn’t fair. 

But what do you care? Other animals listen to you, awakened or not, and that’s what matters. The sea is your domain. You know its moods, and you know where the best fish can be found — a talent not to be underestimated! 

Albatross Traits

Your Albatross character has a number of traits

Ability Score Increase

Your Intelligence score increases by 2, and your Charisma score increases by 1

Age

Most Albatrosses are considered an adult around 5 years old, though many don't settle down till around 10. Albatrosses usually live around 60 years 

Size

The average Albatross has a body length of 3 to 4 feet, and their wings can easily be 9to 10 feet total! Your size is Medium 

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

You have the sweetest, softest voice, but then all of a sudden - SCREECH!!

The sound carries, and if you're not ready for it, it's freighting. Once per long rest, you can unleash your horrible shriek, requiring all unfriendly creatures within 30ft to succeed on a DC12 Wisdom saving throw or become freighted until they succeed on a subsequent check.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Halfling. The Halfling language isn’t secret, but halflings are loath to share it with others. They write very little, so they don’t have a rich body of literature. Their oral tradition, however, is very strong. Almost all halflings speak Common to converse with the people in whose lands they dwell or through which they are traveling.

The only good thing that came from That Song is that you can scare some folks out of attacking you. a number of time per day equal to your Intelligence modifier (with a minimum of 1), you can impose Disadvantage on an attack roll being made on you as a reaction. You must declare that you are using this before the enemy attack on you is resolved. 

All uses are reset after a Long Rest.
