Homebrew Abyssai Species Details

Abyssai are humanoid with sleek, smooth skin that ranges from dark blues and purples to iridescent blacks. Their skin glimmers faintly, like the surface of the ocean at night. They have large, luminous eyes adapted for seeing in the dark, sometimes reflecting a subtle glow from the depths of the Obsidian Sea. Some Abyssai have frilled gills along their necks or ribs, marking their amphibious nature. Webbed fingers and toes aid them in swimming, and their hair resembles long strands of flowing seaweed or delicate tendrils that move fluidly in water. Abyssai have no visible noses, as their respiration is primarily through gills, though they have a small slit for breathing air if necessary.
