Homebrew Axolotling Species Details

Typically thought of as a gentle and whimsical folk, Axolotlings are playful and surprisingly adept for creatures of their unassuming reputation. They have an affinity for water, and tend to lean toward Neutral alignments as they often go with the flow of the world around them. Most Axolotling communities are underwater in all manner of environments, with a few preferring to live on land where other societies are easier to interact and trade with. They tend to live simple, unambitious lives, without much drive for invention or feats of greatness. Some Axolotlings even float along in the water, living nowhere in particular and going wherever the currents carry them, so long as there is food available.

Axolotlings are humanoids who mature at 10 years of age and live to be around 50. They are of a short stature and stand between 2-3 feet tall, weighing 30-40 pounds on average. The tendrils on their cheeks act both as gills and as sensors, picking up subtle vibrations in both air and water, and the elegant webbing on their tails let them propel themselves through water with ease.
