Homebrew Aztecan Species Details

A colorful race of bird people which supposedly descended from the heavens. Deriving from their belief that that are equal to gods, due to back in the old days, ancient civilizations treated them as such. This was until their disappearance during the collapsing of the empires from the Blood Era due to the raids of the first Heavenly Six, ordered by the reigning gods. Not until fairly recently was it discovered they've been living in seclusion up in a self proclaimed mountain nation above the clouds, hiding from the threat that never came. This race is both loud and highly opinionated, often boasting of how beautiful they are or whatever manor of feats they've accomplished. This race has developed a form a bureaucracy over the many years of it's seclusion, in an almost military style fashion, or a "pecking order" if you will. The chieftain of this birds is the one who maintains highest strength out of the tribe and due to this is allowed the "Holy Spirit of The First" granting abilities such as immortality. A chieftain falls to the position of advisor to whomst ever bests him in combat. This race has a usual disscontempt with magic, allowing very few of their members to take part in the arts, those who are allowed become shamans and seers for the tribe. Age is a hard things to measure for most Aztecans as the strongest live the longest and there always children being born, but some warriors have been found to live up to 3,000 years old. This ancient race was birthed by the ancient god of combat Ruul-Khan, whomst all their heavenly abilities stem from including their ability to transform into the beast/bird form.

Heavenly Lineage

 

By the time an Aztecan reaches their 5th level, once per day, an Aztecan can undergo a transformation into their "Divine Form" where they take on the features of a bird. This in turn raises their speed and strength, while in this form raise Strength +2 and Dexterity +2. By the 10th level an Aztecan can take the form even further through the complete transformation, this molds all of their equipment into their skin, making all weight irrelevant. In this form an Aztecan takes the form of a giant bird unleashing the strength of their Ancestor, in this form Aztecan can now fly as well as raise their Str/Dex +4.
