You can choose to empower a spell to have twice its normal effect. If you do so roll a d20 if the outcome is 5 or below you take damage equal to 1d20 for each level the spell was cast at. (for example if you cast a 5th level spell you take 5d20 damage) 

As a master of your school of magic, you can create of magic spell of your own at any level. 

All of your base stats start at 20. (this covers stat generation but not proficiencies)
