Homebrew Abaesin Species Details

Abaesin hail from the far-off planet of Oceanus, a planet almost entirely covered in vast, deep oceans. Due to the environment of their planet, Abaesin take on a similar appearance to the varied marine life that populates their home, sporting anglerfish-like heads, crustacean claws, coral growths and more.

Abaesin feel a deep connection with water and oceans of any planet, often making livings as sailors, fisherman and occasionally pirates. The Abaesin race charted and conquered their own planet of Oceanus, working in harmony to document useful flora and fauna, and establishing large underwater settlements. When they discovered the technology that allowed them to begin space travel, they jumped at the chance to chart the stars and meet new life. In the space age, Abaesin are a key part of the Galactic Union, often responsible for sorting disputes and beginning initatives.

Like all other beings however, Abaesin are prone to falling into The Liminality. Abaesin are mostly concentrated in the more water-oriented realms of The Liminality, such as the Endless Ocean, in which they have traded their sailing ships to steampunk airships, as the fauna of the Endless Ocean is...less passive than that of Oceanus. There are even rumours of a very renowned Abaesin being head of a feared pirate crew known as the Darkspire Corsairs.

Abaesin have been renowned to live to around 150 years of age. As they do so, however, their physical features undergo significant changes. Lights of anglerfish lures may dim, or coral growths may calcify.
