Homebrew Binephalem Species Details

Aasimar are the descendants of celestials just as tieflings are to infernal beings. Binephalem can be result of a Celestial and Infernal union. A sub-species of Nephalem, Binephalem is the result of the unholy union of Celestials and Infernals, Binephalem have both fiendish and celestial blood running through their veins. Binephalem is a rare sub-species of Nephalem. Binephalem DNA didn't cross correctly leading to them most to being smaller than a regular human and having a combination of physical traits from both parents. They are torn by a desire for good and justice, and resentment toward societies which shunned them. Many are rejected by one if not both parents, and forced to walk their path alone, others are torn from one parent to the other.

Binephalem often suffer the same violence, mistrust, and fear as tieflings, but with an added layer of disgust as they appear more glorious and desirable than the average tiefling. Unlike regular Nephalem, Binephalem struggle to make themselves look like humans, or even tieflings, because of the physical traits they inherited from their parents. Those who make it to adulthood tend to live on the fringes of society, often as loners or in small groups with other outcasts.

Infernal and Celestial Bloodline

Binephalem can appear more like an amalgam of their celestial and infernal parents, but their infernal heritage leaves them clearly marked. Binephalem generally have a mismatch of physical characteristics from their parents, though they tend to be significantly smaller. This mismatch can result into maybe having wings of a celestial and hoofs like an infernal, or having mismatched characteristics of both parents. Very few Binephalem grind down their horns if they have them to make themselves more human looking, but for most this isn't enough. Most have only slightly exaggerated fangs, which appear unnaturally straight and glistening. They do not have solid color eyes but their irises tend to be metallic. Their skin tones range across all the tiefling colorations to regular human skin tones. Their hair is usually light, from blond to red to more metallic gold and platinum.

Self-Reliant Wanderers

Very few Nephalem exist in the world, and this is even more ture for Binephalem. Most Binephalem are forced to live on the fringes of society, driven from cities and towns, they are outcasts and hermits. Misunderstood by most other races they don't stay in any one place for very long, and instead wander the world seeking a place in that they can call home. When traveling, a Binephalem tends to wear holds, closed helms, and other gear that allows them to conceal their identities.

Binephalem are not quick to trust anyone,  but when a nephalem’s companions demonstrate that they trust him or her, the Binephalem learns to extend the same trust to them. And once a Binephalem gives someone loyalty, the Binephalem is a firm friend or ally for life.
