Bownans are a humanoid people, perhaps a little shorter than a human, but with a vibrant energy that radiates from them. Their skin shimmers with a base color – perhaps a deep, sapphire blue, or a warm, sunny yellow. But it's not just a single tone. Overlaid on that base are distinct, multi-coloured spots, each a contrasting hue, like fiery orange or a cool, emerald green. Their hair is a different vibrant colour, sometimes multi-coloured. The effect is mesmerizing, like looking at a living, breathing piece of stained glass.

Their eyes are large and expressive, often mirroring or complementing the colours in their skin. They hold a spark of curiosity, a friendly openness that immediately puts you at ease. They have rodent-like teeth, flat noses and long, pointed ears.
