Homebrew Cursed Chimpanzee Species Details

The Chimpanzee is a primate closely related to humankind. Rare enough to be considered an exotic beast, but common enough to be a known nuisance. Primarily found in jungles, woodlands, and forests: areas with plenty of space to roam, trees to climb, and fruit to eat. One thing that sets these primates apart from their cousins the Gorillas, and their often-time victim the Monkey: is their overwhelming aggression. The Chimpanzee are a highly social race, living in massive troops and working alongside one another. Smart enough to wield tools, their sapience is widely debated and many have even tried to teach them language to no avail, though whether this is thanks to a physiological inability or an intellectual deficiency is arguable. The truth of the matter, is that frankly: its both, as well as a refusal rooted in their aggression toward anything that isn't one of them.

Aggressive as they are, Chimps are quite often the victim of curses and vengeance plots through surviving victims of their maulings, and in few cases: this curse brings with it the burden of intelligence, allowing the primate to think and speak of their own accord-  raising their intelligence just barely past the bar to be considered a sentient being. These Chimps, cursed with the blessing of lively intelligence: are petty, simple creatures willing to do anything to satisfy their primal urges- be it hunger, greed, or fury. Not much is known about their attitudes due to their rarity, but what little is known: most often comes from adventurers who have either battled, or worked with these horrific little primates.
