Homebrew Alarian Elf Species Details
The Alari are a unique race of elves, not quite like the cursed underdwellers they can walk amongst the sun, though their skin is ashen and pale. They mostly reside on the gloomy and seldom sunny isle of Efnalion however some do travel to the mainland with the Free dwarves.
Alarian Elf Traits
Your elf character has a variety of natural abilities, the result of thousands of years of elven refinement.Ability Score Increase
Your Dexterity score increases by 2.
Age
Elves are one of the longest living races in Aryn, some having been recorded to reaching at least 1500, though for elves death becomes more of a choice than an eventuality. They begin feeling the affects of age around 600 though they can continue on for several centuries until the weariness comes upon them
Size
The average elf heights are between a little under 5 feet or over 7 depending on the Subrace, they are considered Medium.
The Alari are the second shortest of the elves ranging between 4’9 to 5’6 in height
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision
Accustomed to twilit forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Keen Senses
You have proficiency in the Perception skill.
Aeon’s Gift
You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.
Miniel’s Vigil
All Elves share the watchful eye of their maker the Aeon Miniel. They only require four hours of rest during which they are aware of their surroundings, at the end they receive the benefit of a long rest.
Languages
You can speak, read, and write Common and Elvish. Elvish is fluid, with subtle intonations and intricate grammar. Elven literature is rich and varied, and their songs and poems are famous among other races. Many bards learn their language so they can add Elvish ballads to their repertoires.
Elven Combat Training
All elves are proficient with the Shortbow, Shortsword, Longbow and Longsword
The Light of the Alari
Due to rumored resistance to Zazriel when she turned some of the dwarves and elves against Aldir, the Alari have an uncanny resistance to Necrotic damage.
Shadow Step
The Alari have an affinity to Shadow Magic, allowing them to have a similar teleportation ability of 30 feet the Nytenanorians have, the difference is at level 3 they are resistant to all damage while doing so. They can do this as many times as their proficiency bonus per long rest.
