Homebrew Tabaxi (Pantherine) Species Details
Unlike your wilder cousins prowling distant jungles, Pantherine Tabaxi have kept to themselves and as such removed themselves of many feral instincts the usual Tabaxi hold, choosing instead to attempt assimilation with urban society while not fully "domesticating" themselves. Your sleek black coat goes to match with your stealthy, natural curiosity. You still carry the lithe build and keen night vision of a panther, but your claws are more often put to work carving intricate woodwork or strumming delicate strings than tearing through jungle or even prey.
Many pantherine Tabaxi weave themselves tightly into city life, forming close-knit clans of artisans, scholars, and occasional scavengers who delight in uncovering forgotten trinkets in market stalls. Though you’ve embraced roofs and cobblestones over treetops and vines, a spark of wanderlust lingers—enough to send a few of your kind on gentle adventures, seeking out new prospects beyond civilization, where your other Tabaxi brethren roam. At heart, you remain a creature of refined curiosity, prowling civilization’s hidden corners with the same patient watchfulness that once guided your forebears through the jungle night.
