Batfolk Traits
Batfolk are halfling-size flying foxes with impish features.
Ability Score Increase
Increase one ability score by 2, and increase a different one by 1.
Type
You are a Humanoid.
Size
Your size is Small.
Speed
Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Flight
Because of your wings, you have a flying speed equal to your walking speed. You can’t use this flying speed if you’re wearing medium or heavy armor.
Natural Weapon
Batfolk have bite attack that does 1d6 damage your bite is considered Finesse
Vampiric Bite
As a bonus action you can use your fanged bite drain the blood out of your target. While you are missing half or more of your hit points, you have advantage on attack rolls you make with this bite. When you attack with this bite and hit a creature that isn’t a Construct or an Undead, you can empower yourself in one of the following ways of your choice:
- You regain hit points equal to the piercing damage dealt by the bite.
- You gain a bonus to the next ability check or attack roll you make; the bonus equals the piercing damage dealt by the bite.
You can empower yourself with this bite a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Echolocation
You have blindsight out to a range of 30ft. You cannot use your blindsight while deafened.
Keen Hearing
Batfolk have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing.
Languages
Your character can speak, read, and write Common and one other language that you and your DM agree is appropriate for the character. The Player’s Handbook offers a list of languages to choose from. The DM is free to modify that list for a campaign.
Age
Batfolk mature at the same rate humans. They can live 350 to almost 500 years.
Alignment
Most Batfolk are neutral, taking little interest in the struggle between good and evil where it doesn't threaten their communities.
