Homebrew Demi-beast (wolf) Species Details

Demi-beast are were created by an unknown figure, yet they have a not so insignificant population across the worlds. These demi-beasts are primarily humanoid while retaining the head, fur, legs, instincts, and physical traits of the creature they originate from. Demi-wolves are known for their resilience and intelligence; high speeds, quick reactions, and pack hunting tactics have led them to be a premium choice as guards or hunters. Since they retain their instincts, they prioritize healthy young cubs to raise and foster with no distinctions between male or female; most nomadic tribes can rarely afford to raise unfit young, this leads them to rescind their unknown's blessing, their humanoid form. Each year, these cubs are rounded up and are deprived of their humanoid physique, granting them flawless animalistic bodies. There are exceptions as families can chose to raise unfit young with no aid from the community, often ending up as caretakers, chefs, or other roles which families have no time to take care of. Demi-wolves seem to have no talent in manipulating mana, yet are highly perceptive when it comes to sensing distorted mana from a spell or trap. Disformed young have been found to be unusually sensitive to mana and poisons, so the young are given an opportunity to serve as scouts in some tribes.

Demi-beasts can be of various shapes and sizes, ranging from small to medium, and retaining their animalistic traits. Demi-wolves are of medium-small build as they are highly agile and have compact muscles to attack or defend with. They resemble furred humans with canine legs, a wolfen head, and a tail. They come in a variety of colors with the most common being grey. Their iris's gain colors when strong emotions are felt, as such most of the community's eyes are of red and pink.

Pack hunt tactics

While individuals have the capabilities to finish a hunt on their own, their survival is always up to lady luck. As such when hunting in a pack, the casualties can be reduced to a bare minimum, relying less on the luck on an individual and more on the capabilities of their teammates. Grants teammates an advantage on saving throws when they are within 10ft of the character.
