Homebrew Crimson Koraidon (Primal Dracobeast) Species Details
The Crimson Koraidon are not born—they are unleashed. Shaped in forgotten crucibles of cosmic warfare, these primal dragon-beasts embody the end of restraint. With scales like molten armor and hearts that burn with dimensional fury, their presence signals extinction made flesh.
They do not retreat. They do not negotiate. They break the world before letting it break them.
Legends say the first Crimson Koraidon, Vaelora the Crimson Pulse, was sealed inside the Echoflame Crucible, a proto-dimensional sarcophagus built by terrified gods. It held her for a time. Then it shattered. She didn’t.
Crimson Koraidon channel a berserker’s power through a sentinel’s resilience. Their bodies are engines of war, and their rage a stabilizing force. They feel pain, but they refuse to acknowledge it—bruises and wounds are mere whispers in the storm of their fury. Damage is real and raw, but they absorb it as fuel to their unstoppable fury.
They don’t hide. They don’t hesitate. Their roars are felt in bone and memory. They often shield the broken out of empathy—and annihilate the cruel out of principle. If you cheat, torture, or lie in front of one… there will be no trial.
You don’t reason with a Crimson Koraidon.
You survive them. Or you don’t.
Crimson Koraidon (Primal Dracobeast) Traits
Born from apocalypse and tempered by rage, Crimson Koraidon embody relentless fury and unyielding resilience—living weapons forged to break worlds and endure beyond the end of time.Primal Fury
Born from the crucible of cosmic wrath, your body thrums with ancient, volatile energy. When anger ignites your spirit, your muscles harden like molten steel, and your resilience becomes nearly unbreakable. This primal fury grants you overwhelming strength and endurance beyond mortal limits, allowing you to push through pain and shatter foes with brutal force.
Primal Overdrive
Once per long rest, you can unleash a burst of primal fury as a bonus action, entering Overdrive for 1 minute. While Overdrive is active, your Strength-based weapon attacks deal +2 damage. You move with relentless force, ignoring difficult terrain as your rage propels you forward. Additionally, when you take the Attack action, you can make one extra melee weapon attack. Your mind sharpens against manipulation—while Overdrive lasts, you are immune to being charmed or frightened.
Crimson Roar
You unleash a terrifying roar filled with primal rage and raw energy. Each creature in a 15-foot cone must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, targets take 6d8 Psychic damage and are Frightened for 1 minute. On a successful save, they take half damage and are not frightened.
Additionally, enemies who fail the save have their Strength scores reduced by 2 (minimum 1) for 1 minute as their muscles tremble under the force of your roar.
Creatures frightened by this effect can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of their turns, ending the effect on a success.
Too Angry to Die
When you are reduced to 0 hit points but not killed outright, you instead remain standing with 1 hit point. This ability can only be used once per long rest. It represents your unstoppable rage and primal will to survive, refusing to fall even when death seems inevitable.
Tail Lash
You wield your massive tail as a natural weapon. When you hit with your tail lash attack, you deal 1d6 + your Strength modifier in bludgeoning damage. Additionally, if you move at least 10 feet before making the attack, your target must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier) or be knocked prone as your tail sweeps them off their feet.
Primal Tongue
Your bloodline echoes the primordial power of the Koraidon Elders, granting you an innate connection to the Draconic language. You can speak, read, and write Draconic naturally, allowing you to communicate with dragons, ancient beings, and other creatures attuned to primal forces without effort or study.
