Homebrew Azhari Species Details
Human Traits
Creature Type: Humanoid
Size: Medium (about 4–7 feet tall) or Small (about 2–4 feet tall), chosen when you select this species
Speed: 30 feet
The Azhari exist within a framework of faith, clan, and conquest. Their society is structured around tribal confederations, known as Zahirrim, each ruled by a noble family descended from warrior-prophets or divine seers. Allegiance to one's Qabila (tribe) is paramount, and tribal honor is defended with steel and word alike.
They are a people of extremes—deeply spiritual, fiercely proud, and driven by both survival and legacy. The Azhari see themselves as the rightful inheritors of Drakthar’s destiny, destined to bring unity through fire, law, and divine will. Their cities rise from sunblasted rock and shimmering dunes, thriving oases of scholarship and domination alike.
Expansion is sacred. They do not conquer for greed, but for order—believing the fractured peoples of Aetheris need guidance beneath the divine banner of the Sharuun, the Sacred Flame that anoints the Azhari with purpose.
Religion and Beliefs
The Azhari follow the Path of the Unburned Flame, a monotheistic belief in Zahruun, the Eternal Fire Who Speaks. Their faith teaches that Zahruun forged the Azhari from dust and starlight, breathing into them divine resolve and naming them the Flamebearers of Justice.
Priest-warriors called Jannasir (Flamebound) serve as both judges and holy warriors. The written word is sacred—divine law etched into prayerblades, armor, and the walls of their courts. Every household recites from the Verses of Ascension, a collection of parables, laws, and poetic prophecy believed to channel Zahruun’s will.

Relations with Other Species
The Azhari are admired and feared across Aetheris. Many see them as divinely inspired, others as imperial zealots. Their capacity to unify shattered lands and inspire absolute loyalty is rivaled only by their iron commitment to their beliefs. They maintain strained relations with the Concord of Veltrion, and often clash with Fey courts, Shalnari diplomats, and Stormvaarder enclaves.
