Homebrew Arachis Species Details

The Goddess Arachne, Queen of the Spiders, once had a child with a Fey of great power. Their child being both god and Fey soon birthed a brood of her own and from that brood a race was born. The Children of Arachne or The Arachis are a race of Elven like creatures with the power of spiders. They have long slender bodies, with thin sharp claw like fingers and toes: pale skin and white hair similar to spider silk. Their eight eyes, usually black, purple or red with no iris or pupils; are partially hidden when in public to not scare others. They have two normal size eyes and two sets of smaller eyes above the normal eyes on their forehead. From an early age their spider powers are present. Their society is matriarchal by nature.


Age: Having unnatural origins has given the Arachis longer lives, and they have been known to live 400 years.
Size: The Arachis are roughly the size of Humans only far more slender. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 Feet. Your base Climbing speed is 30 feet.
Superior Darkvision: Due to their heritage the Arachis can see in the dark far better than most. Your darkvision has a range of 120 feet.
Spider Resistance: you have resistance to Poison and Acid damage.
Arachne’s Legacy: You can Speak with spiders. You can spend an hour a day to summon a Spider that is ¼ your character level and if you try to summon a new spider the old one fades unless it dies, can produce a 10 foot spider silk rope once per day and you gain the following spells: Poison Spray cantrip at 1st level, Web at 3rd level, and Spider Climb at 5th level. You can use these spells this way once per long rest and they only recharge after a long rest

Arachne’s Legacy

You can Speak with spiders. You can spend an hour a day to summon a Spider that is ¼ your character level and if you try to summon a new spider the old one fades unless it dies, can produce a 10 foot spider silk rope once per day and you gain the following spells: Poison Spray cantrip at 1st level, Web at 3rd level, and Spider Climb at 5th level. You can use these spells this way once per long rest and they only recharge after a long rest and your spell casting modifier for these spells is your Wisdom modifier.
