Homebrew Angba Species Details

Angba

Mysterious winged beings from beyond the stars, the Angba walk the line between resilience and adaptability, gifted with strange senses and subtle physical power.

Angba Traits

Ability Score Increase. Your Constitution score increases by 2.

Age. Angba mature at the same rate as humans but live slightly longer, usually reaching up to 130 years.

Size. Angba are roughly the size of humans, standing between 5 to 6.5 feet tall. Your size is Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Flight. You have a flying speed of 30 feet. To use this speed, you must not be wearing medium or heavy armor. Your flight is low-altitude and naturally limited by your physiology; you can’t hover in place for long periods, and your wingspan prevents you from flying in tight or heavily obstructed areas (DM discretion).

Light Vision. Accustomed to solar glare and alien stars, you can see clearly in areas of intense or blinding light. You can see normally up to 60 feet in areas considered bright light or glare that would typically hinder other creatures (e.g., desert sun, reflective ice, radiant magic zones). This does not grant darkvision.

Alien Nature. You are considered an alien creature for the purposes of spells like detect thoughts or charm person. When a creature attempts to read your mind or charm you, it must make a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your Constitution modifier + your proficiency bonus) or the effect fails.

Language. You can speak, read, and write Flefi, the Angban native language. It is a harmonic, tone-based language often described as “haunting birdsong echoing through metal.” You can also speak one additional language of your choice.

Magic Resistant Physiology. Angba are not naturally attuned to magic. You do not start with any racial spellcasting traits, and you have disadvantage on Arcana checks related to casting magic unless you are trained in Arcana or a spellcasting class.
