Homebrew Ambull Species Details

Twice the height of a human, Ambulls are a race of subterranean animals which are indigenous to the death world of Arnock. Ambulls have a hard, chitinous carapace and a semi-simian stance, with arms which reach to the ground even when standing upright. Their claws are diamond-hard and used for tunnelling through the soft bedrock of their homeworld, and they possess a pair of razor-sharp mandibles with which to consume their prey, dangerous cuttlefish-like creatures called Carrion Crawlers. Ambulls are also highly resistant to extremes of temperature. 

Ambull Traits

They have a tough, insect-like exoskeleton that provides some protection against attacks.

Armoured Carapace

If the Ambull is not wearing any armour, it’s AC is 15 + your strength modifier.

Darkvision

The Ambull has Darkvision 60 feet. It can see dim light as if it was bright light and dark light as if it was dim light.

Enclosed Fighter

Ambulls have disadvantage on ranged attacks.

Ability Score Increase

You gain a +2 increase to strength, and a +1 increase to constitution.
