Talon and Retrice

The Aarakocteryx is smaller than its sister species, with heights averaging slightly above 4 foot. They share many physical features, but notably the Aarakocteryx has combined wings and arms, with taloned hands featured at the ends. 

The Aarakocteryx shares the same avian features, with vibrant plumage and notable bird heads. However, both males and females of this race come in a wide variety of colors, as opposed to just biological males.

Gliding Warriors

The most major difference between the Aarakocra and Aarakocteryx is the latter's inability to fly. However, their wings and tails grant them the unique ability to glide, unseen in other races. When airborne, through whatever mean, this race can use its reaction to glide, reducing its fall speed to 60 feet and taking no damage once they hit the ground. If further attacked midair, this ability fails and they fall as normal.
