Homebrew Angelic Succubus Species Details

The Sanacubus—often referred to in common tongue as an “Angelic Succubus”—are rare, tragic beings cursed by the very blood that flows through their veins. Whether born from the forbidden union of a celestial and a fiend, or cursed as an innocent babe by some cruel twist of fate, sanacubi live as paradoxes: beings of divine beauty and infernal heritage. They walk a lonely path, burdened by their lineage and the rejection of both the heavens and the hells.

Sanacubi are considered an aberration—“against the natural order”—primarily due to their inability to bear children. This sterility is often viewed as a mark of their unnatural origin, a divine punishment, or perhaps a protective mechanism to prevent the proliferation of their kind. As a result, many cultures see them with suspicion, even fear, regardless of the sanacubus’ intent or behavior.

Their appearance is striking and unmistakable. Each sanacubus bears two horns that sprout elegantly from their head—horns that differ greatly in shape and size from individual to individual, often reflecting the duality of their heritage. From their backs emerge two large, feathered wings, typically shaded in monochromatic hues—whites, greys, silvers, or blacks—that seem to shimmer or absorb light depending on their mood or power. Their tails, long and smooth, end in a heart-shaped tip that glows softly with a color that reflects their aura. Above all, their beauty is otherworldly, radiant and alluring in a way that seems both divine and unsettling. They are often described as awe-inspiring and terrifying all at once—too perfect to be mortal, too unnatural to be divine.

Like succubi, their powers are fueled by affection and emotional intimacy. But where succubi manipulate and drain through carnal pleasure, sanacubi use closeness and touch as vessels for healing. When they lay with others, it is not to corrupt or consume, but to mend and restore. Their touch can soothe pain, calm the mind, and even purge sickness or curses. However, unlike their demonic counterparts, sanacubi do not feed on sexual energy, and in fact, most place great value on their virginity—seeing it as a symbol of resistance against their cursed nature or as a vow to remain pure in a world that often sees them as impure.

Despite their potential for compassion and good, sanacubi are often hunted, feared, or shunned. Their beauty becomes a curse, drawing unwanted attention, envy, or worse. Many loathe the very nature they were born with, struggling to reconcile the evil attributed to them with the goodness they strive to embody. Still, a few among them choose a path of light, seeking to use their unique gifts to aid the suffering, even if that means risking their lives for a world that may never love them back.

In them lies a tragic grace—a hope that one day, even cursed blood may be the source of salvation.

Level 5: Healing Kiss heals for 1d4 plus your Charisma modifier.

Ability Increases and Decreases

Succubus blood running through their veins makes sanacubi charming, and from understanding what they are, they became wise, but as non-warriors, they aren't very much of fighters when alone.

Hellish Resistance

You have resistance to fire damage.

You can cast charm person and spare the dying once a day. When you reach 2rd level, you can cast disguise self and minor illusion, each two times a day. When you reach 9th level you can shapechange each long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Sacred Virginity

A sanacubus virginity is a powerful thing...
A virgin sanacubus, if killed, will return, but won't be able to properly use any items other than food and water, and won't be able to ever level up again. Can only resurrect once.

...and the the taking of it can bring serious rewards and consequences.
The sanacubus will have 10 additional max Hit Points for 2 days, and the partner will be fully healed, even if it's already dead. Both will recover from any conditions, diseases and curses. One will be bound to the other, they will be instinctually attracted to one another. Their destinies will be intertwined, and the death of one will be the death of the other. However the bound can still be broken by a wish.
