Homebrew Aymphibous (V2) Species Details
Aymphibous /ˈeɪm.fɪ.baʊs/
Aym= like “aim” → /eɪm/
phi = like “fi” in “fish” → /fɪ/
bous= like “ow” when you’re hurt → /baʊs/
Aymphibous are an amphibian like species greatly resembling humanoid frogs, or, well, Amphibians. They mostly live and thrive in tropical places with great abundance of fruits. They actually came from a planet where Utopia was all they knew. They have very little survival instincts and usually have 0 natural predators where they’re from. They’re extremely bright colors and often are named after fruits, herbs, or any soft sounding name. Life is fun when you’re an herbivore surrounded by tasty fruits.

Dark Vision
You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Glowing Eyes
Your eyes act as a Dim light source, colored to whatever color your eyes naturally are colored as. Extends 10 feet in the direction your facing.
Amphibious
You can breathe air and water.
Natural Regeneration
You naturally regain 1d4 health every other turn, small severed limbs like fingers, toes, etc regrow within minutes. Large limbs take a short rest.
Smooth Skin
Due to how smooth your skin is (not slippery or slimy, just smooth), you are much harder to grapple. You have advantage to your grapple +4
Age
Generally, Aymphibous live to be around 100, reaching maturity around 18
Ability Score Decrease
Due to a not so strong body, you have an ability score decrease towards strength, -1.
Natural Attacks
You have naturally given claws (rather dull) on your hands and feet, both adding 1d6 to your unarmed strike or kick.
You have a tongue that you can use as a secondary limb to hold and grasp items, but it can also extend 10 feet and do 1d4 bludgeoning damage.
No Garments
You do not wear clothes, they only slow you down. When wearing clothing of any form, your walking speed is diminished by 5, and you have -3 on dexterity rolls
Language
You primarily communicate through “Welparal,” a language involving doing certain hand motions that touch the body of the person you are talking to, various taps or rubs or traces in their skin, specifically their Backs, shoulders, hands, tops of their thighs, and forearms. It’s your species’ personal language, but you are capable of teaching it to another if they want to learn. You vaguely understand common, but cannot speak, as you don’t have vocal cords. You can Choose to either somewhat understand another language, or somewhat be able to perform sign language.
