Homebrew Colossus Species Details

Beliefs

The Colossus believe that friendship and partnership are defined through physical work and affection more than words. because of this, they often show affection through helping others with work, making objects of physical value, (The Colossus very rarely keep objects for sentimental value but when they do, they guard it heavily) etc.

The Colossus believe that the only way for one to achieve anything in life is for them to do it themselves. this can lead to the Colossus taking on tasks to prove themselves worthy and receive no help even when they could be in danger.

The Colossus see history as their greatest ally and see things such as ancient artefacts and even the language of draconic, as sacred.

Languages

The Colossus speak draconic from a very young age but use common as their main language. Most Colossi never learn any other language but it is the duty of at least one other in the tribe to learn as many as they can so as to be a translator for forren people.

Tribes

The Colossus see their tribes as one united family to the point of referring to one another as siblings. they are usually welcoming to outsiders but will hold a grudge for their entire life.

Different Colossi have different jobs within the tribe; it is the job of the translator to learn every language they can as well as learning about all the different species, the shaman of the tribe is usually the only one permitted to learn magic, the ciùil is tasked with learning and playing music for the tribe, and the elder (always either the oldest person in the tribe or the current shaman) is the one who all of the tribe members look up to as a demigod of sorts
