Homebrew Aeraliths (Djinni/Cloud Giant) Species Details
Aeralith
Tracing their ancestry to the genies of the Elemental Planes, Aeriliths can tap into the power of their element: Air. As a direct descendant of a Djinni & a Cloud Giant, they have a deep connections with the wind and sky.
Race Description
Born of the swirling union between the towering Cloud Giants and the tempestuous Djinni, the Aeralith are skybound beings who carry themselves with an air of majesty—literally. With limbs shaped by the strength of the clouds and a soul forged from elemental winds, Aeraliths drift between the mortal realm and the skies above, often misunderstood as spirits or minor deities by those who witness their graceful presence.
Their eyes are as piercing as like lightning, their hair billows like clouds regardless of wind, and their voices are soft and airy, like whispers caught in a breeze, yet they carry the distant echo of ancient storms. Aeraliths value freedom, intellect, and status, but their elemental blood also makes them passionate and unpredictable.
Whether wandering through floating cities, meditating in mountaintop temples, or commanding wind and storm on the battlefield, the Aeralith embody the sky's serenity—and its wrath.
- Aeraliths – "Aera" (air) + “-lith” (stone, noble, solid) — beings of air and strength.
Creating Your Character
Visual Aesthetic:
-
Skin Tones: Pale blue, silver, or soft violet, sometimes glowing faintly.

-
Eyes: Glowing, stormlike—white, electric blue, violet, or clouded like mist.
-

Flavor Tip:
When Aeraliths speak, their words may carry subtle auditory effects based on emotion—like a distant breeze when amused, a quiet rumble when angry, or birdsong tones when joyful. It’s less a magical effect and more a passive trait of their skybound voice.

Until the end of your turn, you can move through creatures and small openings as if under the effects of Gaseous Form, but you cannot end your movement inside another creature's space. You can use this ability once per short or long rest. You cannot use this ability if you are surrounded—there must be no enemies within 5 feet of you, or you must first take the Disengage action.
Sky Sight
Your elemental heritage gives you keen awareness of the skies. You gain proficiency in Investigation, and you can see through lightly obscured conditions (fog, rain, smoke) as if they were clear.
Skyborn Resistance
You have resistance to lightning damage.
Skyborn Legacy
You know the shocking grasp cantrip. Starting at 3rd level, you can cast the feather fall spell with this trait, without requiring a material component. Starting at 5th level, you can also cast the levitate spell with this trait, without requiring a material component. Once you cast feather fall or levitate with this trait, you can’t cast that spell with it again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast either of those spells using any spell slots you have of the appropriate level.
Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells when you cast them with this trait (choose when you select this race).
Unending Breath
You can hold your breath indefinitely while you’re not incapacitated.
