Homebrew Dragonborn (Mixed Blood) Species Details

These dragonborn were born with the rare traits of dual lineage.

As a Mixed Blood Dragonborn, you have these special traits.

Breath Weapon II

When you take the bonus action on your turn, you can replace your bonus action with an exhalation of weaker magical energy. You can use your second Breath Weapon once per Short Rest.

Breath Weapon I

When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can replace one of your attacks with an exhalation of magical energy in either a 10-foot Cone or a 25-foot Line that is 5 feet wide (choose the shape each time). Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 8 plus your Constitution modifier and Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, a creature takes 1d8 damage of the type determined by your Draconic Ancestry trait. On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage. This damage increases by 1d8 when you reach character levels 5 (2d8), 11 (3d8), and 17 (4d8).

You can use this Breath Weapon a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.

Damage Resistance I

You have Resistance to the damage type determined by your Draconic Ancestry trait.

Damage Resistance II

You have more resistances as determined by your secondary Draconic Ancestry trait.

Lesser Darkvision

You have Darkvision with a range of 50 feet.

Greater Draconic Flight

When you reach character level 5, you can channel draconic magic to give yourself temporary flight. As a Bonus Action, you sprout spectral wings on your back that last for 30 minutes or until you retract the wings (no action required) or have the Incapacitated condition. During that time, you have a Fly Speed twice your Speed. Your wings appear to be made of the same energy as your Breath Weapon. Once you use this trait, you can’t use it again until you finish a Short Rest.

Greater Breath Weapon

When you take an Action on your turn, you can, once per Long Rest, replace your action with an exhalation of dual-powered magical energy in either a 20-foot Cone or a 50-foot Line that is 10 feet wide (choose the shape each time). Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 10 plus your Constitution modifier and Proficiency Bonus). On a failed save, a creature takes 2d6 damage of each type determined by your Draconic Ancestry traits. On a successful save, a creature takes half as much damage. This damage increases by 1d6 when you reach character levels 13 (3d6), 16 (4d6), and 19 (5d6). Both damage types are rolled separately.
