Homebrew Divine Undead Human Species Details

Found throughout the multiverse, humans are as varied as they are numerous, and they endeavor to achieve as much as they can in the years they are given. Their ambition and resourcefulness are commended, respected, and feared on many worlds. Similarly, the Undead can also come about in a multitude of ways and be found most anywhere in the multiverse, so really, something like this was inevitable. wether it was a dark ritual hijacked by the divine, or a god's champion come back for another round, these undead come with bit of extra holy flare.

Humans are as diverse in appearance as the people of Earth, and they have many gods. And these gods can be just as fickle and impulsive as any mortal. Sometimes those fickle impulses lead to unusual creatures that one might call unnatural, or a walking contradiction, just like these holy zombies.

Divine Undead Human Traits

As a Divine Undead Human, you have these special traits.

Holy Undead

Due to your holy origins, you are not weak to radiant damage like most undead, instead you are weak to fire damage.

Due to your holy origins, beneficial spells which would not affect undead still work on you as though you were living. Negative spells which target undead still affect you as they would any other undead. e.g. healing spells work on you as though you were living, but turn undead still affects you like it would any other undead.

Your holy nature largely masks your Undeath, though this is not perfect. -1 to charisma checks against strangers or anyone who does not trust you. The threshold of trust for this penalty to cease is up to the DM's discretion. People are not innately repulsed by or afraid of you however.

Undead nature

You do not need to eat, sleep, or breath. you still need to enter a rest like meditative state for 4 hours in place of sleep, but are fully aware of you surroundings during this time.

You have advantage on death saving throws, unless the damage which downed you was fire damage or a critical hit.

You are immune to both poison and disease damage and effects, unless they specifically effect undead, in which case you are only immune to the damage, and not the auxiliary effects, like paralyzing.

Resourceful

You gain Heroic Inspiration whenever you finish a Long Rest.

Skillful

You gain proficiency in one skill of your choice.

Versatile

You gain an Origin feat of your choice.
