Homebrew Xolanii Species Details

Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 2, your Dexterity score increases by 1, and your Constitution score decreases by 1.

Age Xolanii mature quickly, reaching adulthood around age 5. They can live for a surprising length of time, often exceeding 100 years.

Alignment. Xolanii tend towards neutrality, preferring observation and peaceful coexistence. However, their curious and often impressionable nature means they can be swayed towards good or chaos with equal ease.

Size. Xolanii stand between 3 and 5 feet tall and weigh between 50 and 150 pounds. Your size is Small or Medium.

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet, and you have a swimming speed of 50 feet.

Amphibious. You can breathe air and water.

Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Gilled Sensitivity

Your external gills are incredibly sensitive to vibrations in water. You have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks made to hear or detect creatures within 30 feet of you while you are submerged in water. However, these delicate gills are vulnerable to airborne irritants. You have disadvantage on saving throws against effects that deal poison or acid damage while on land.
Natural Regeneration
When you take damage, you can use a bonus action to expend one of your Hit Dice and regain hit points as if you had just finished a short rest. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
Slippery when wet
You have advantage on saving throws to being grappled, and are unable to be grappled or restrained if in water or wet conditions such as rain
