Homebrew Anguirus (gen 1) Species Details

Anguirus’s are stout, armored, quadrupedal reptilian creatures that looks fairly similar to an Ankylosaurus, with aspects of his design also resembling armadillos, hedgehogs, and crocodiles. They have seven inwardly curved horns at the top of their heads and a single, short horn on the end of their snouts. Their faces are long, puffy and drawn out, like a crocodile, with two large tusks at the start and rows of smaller, jagged, serrated teeth following suit. Their carapaces are studded with a plethora of long, sharp, prickly spikes. Anguirus's tail is spiky and longer than their body’s, accounting for the majority of their total body lengths. Their hind limbs are longer than their forelimbs, enabling them to stand upright to their full heights, but they primarily walk upon all fours.

Anguirus (gen 1) Traits

They have carapaces, ultrasonic roars, and can breath an incandescent light.

Ability Score Increase

You gain a +1 increase to dexterity and strength.

Carapace

If an animal attacks you with a melee weapon, it must make a dexterity saving throw DC 10. On a failure, it takes 1d6 piercing damage, and on a success, it takes half as much damage. Additionally, this grants you 16 AC when not wearing armour.

Ultrasonic Roar

You must make a ranged weapon attack. On a hit, the target takes 2d6 + 4 thunder damage. This does double damage to materials made out of stone or glass. The die number increases by 1d6 by levels 5, 10, 15, and 20.

Incandescent Ray

When using the incandescent ray, make a ranged weapon attack. On a hit, the target takes 3d8 burning damage. The target takes 1d4 fire damage for the rest of the time it’s in combat. After using it, you must do a long rest to do it again.
