Homebrew Balanced Rat Folk Species Details

Ratfolk are large humanoid rat-creatures with large buck teeth, claws suitable for digging, and a long hairless tail. Many Ratfolk form communities underneath large cities or in the Underdark due to their repulsive appearance that creates immediate disdain from other races. Ratfolk usually live in small clans with everyone working together for the benefit of the group, an especially needed mentality when living underground in very harsh conditions.

Your Ratfolk character has a variety of natural abilities, the result of a unrelenting existence underground for Ratfolk over an innumerable amount of centuries. Ability Score Increase Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Constitution score increases by 1. Age Young Ratfolk grow and mature quickly, reaching adulthood after only 1 year. Generally, Ratfolk have short lifespans living to be around 30 years of age. Some Ratfolk have been known to live much longer however, usually through magical means
