Homebrew Vurketh Species Details

Myth claims the Vurketh are ancestors of the first titans who roamed the land. One story holds that they were crafted from the titans themselves, who wanted to populate the earth with people created in their image to serve them. Another story claims that the gods created the first vurketh because they could not control the titans any longer, but they could the lesser beings. Whatever their origin, vurketh have made homes for themselves on the Material Plane.

Vurketh look like bipedal lynx, yet are not related to cats at all—furry, cat-eyed, and thick-boned with curved snouts akin to a turtles—and their coloration and other features are reminiscent of their elemental ancestors.

As a Vurketh, you have these special traits.

Your lineage stems from a titan progenitor. Choose the kind of element from the Elemental Heritage table. Your choice affects your Elemental Infusion and Damage Resistance traits as well as your appearance.

Element Elemental Infusion Damage Resistance
Aether Poison Thunder
Air Lightning Acid

Metal Thunder Poison
Water Cold Lightning

Elemental Infusion

When you take your first Attack action on your turn, you can replace the damage of that melee or ranged attack with an infusion of elemeantal energy into the weapon. You must do this before the attack roll is made. On a successful attack with the infused weapon the damage is 1d10 damage of the type determined by your elemental heritage. If the attack roll misses, then the infusion is still used. This damage increases by 1d10 when you reach character levels 5 (2d10), 11 (3d10), and 17 (4d10).

You can use this Elemental Infusion a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a Long Rest.

Damage Resistance

You have Resistance to the damage type determined by your Elemental Heritage trait.

Elemental Channelling

When you reach character level 5 you have learned how to channel your elemental infusion. As a Reaction, when you take elemental damage matching your infusion element equal to or greater than your Proficiency + (Level x 2), you channel the damage taken to also regain one spent elemental infusion.

Spray It Don’t Say It

Your connection to the elements allows you to understand them better and you can speak the Primordial language, although there is an accent. Knowledge of a language means your character can communicate in it, read it, and write it.
