Blink Dogs age similar to pet dogs. They reach adulthood after a single year and tend to have an expected life span of 10 to 13 years. In some cases they manage to reach 15 years.

Featuring an adult shoulder height of 3’6 – 3’9 ft. makes Blink Dogs medium-sized creatures.

Blink Dogs have a base land walking speed of 40 ft.

Awakened Blink Dogs speak and understand Common and their own language. They also understand Elvish. The language of Blink Dogs is a mixture of barks and gestures. Those who don’t understand it see it as a dog’s fun and games.

As a bonus action Blink Dogs can teleport, along with any equipment they’re wearing or carrying, 40 feet to an unoccupied space they can see. After a short or long rest they can blink again.

Upon reaching the 8th level, a Blink Dog learns the ability Dimension Door. It works exactly like the spell of the same name and can be used once per day as an action. After a long rest Blink Dogs can use this ability again.

A Blink Dog can hold single hand items that aren’t heavy or two-handed in his jaw and use them to attack or cast spells, as if he had a single free hand. Even when holding an item this way a Blink Dog still manages to use verbal components for a spell. His able jaw enables a Blink Dog to write.

Blink Dogs have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks when hearing or scents are involved. They can roll Wisdom (Perception) checks instead of Wisdom (Survival) to find and follow scent tracks.

Hit: 1d6 + Strength piercing dmg. Awakened

Blink Dogs can easily wear collars, scarves, amulets, belts, bracers and cloaks without problems. Other humanoid equipment like an armor or gloves can only be worn when it’s magical or reworked to fit. Blink Dogs can never use shields.
As quadrupeds Blink Dogs do need help putting on their gear, but it’ll never hinder long rests and can be worn during those times.
