Homebrew Aonsuil Species Details

Found deep within the bowels of the earth toiling away at the forge or in quaint workshops fiddling delicate trinkets, Aonsuil tower of their common dwarfish or gnome companions.  There is little to no known Aonsuil culture as most of these gentle giants choose to dissociate with the ways of their brutish cyclops kin. Because of this, Aonsuil are most commonly found living with Dwarves or Gnomes, people who share the artistic bent of the Aonsuil and are far more welcoming than the proud fire giants.

Brain and Brawn

Despite the brutish looks and vacant expressions that are common to this group, Aonsuil are extremely intelligent people who value craftsmanship and excellence above all else. Most Aonsuil follow more typical avenues of creativity like forging weapons and armor, artificery, or even magic, but even for those who choose not to pursue such interests it is imperative to integrate artistic excellence into their path.

These dedicated artists tend to have one project that drives their life. This can be as vague as wanting to make the perfect weapon or as specific as making a clock that tells time based off of the tremors in arcane energy around it. Depending on the person, this project can be an obsession or just a hobby, but it is very rare to find an Aonsuil without a special project.

Kind Hearts with Fiery Spirits

Aonsuil tend toward neutral or good alignments. Striving for beauty and excellence has made its way deep into the hearts of Aonsuil and is evident in the way they see the world and interact with others. This can be somewhat of a fault, however, as they have the tendency to see things that are not striving for beauty in the eyes of the Aonsuil lesser or downright despicable. If an Aonsuil's special project defiled or violated in some way, the more obsessive among them has been known to change alignments entirely, seeing their project as a part of them that has now been broken. The results of this shift are varied, but never good.

You count as one size larger when determining your carrying capacity and the weight you can push, drag, or lift.

Flame of Harishan

At 5th level, as a reaction you can call upon the Heartflame of the forge of Harishan, granting you immunity to fire damage and resistance to cold damage until the end of your next turn. You can use this trait a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Forge Skin

You are made only mildly uncomfortable by temperatures nearing 300 degrees and you have resistance to fire damage.

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common, Giant, and your choice of Dwarvish or Gnomish.
