Homebrew Canius Species Details

Canius are a species similar to the Tabaxi, but they are more dog like in physical and mental features.

They are taller than humans very often, and their weight will be different. Canius often have their tails cut down, when they are young, to a smaller size so it can fit under clothing/armor, but sometimes they do not cut their tails. All Canius have different fur types/colors, face structures, and tail lengths, depending on the region. They will also have different hair styles, also depending on fur type. They age a lot slower compared to humans, 1 year for them is 7 for humans, and they live up to 80. They will often have jobs as guards or investigators, but they will always move around the world to enjoy the rest of the world.

Canius Traits

Canius often stay in large groups because of their pack-like tendencies, and are often more trusting because of the dog tendencies. They have a better sense of smell and hearing compared to humans as they are an animal-like creature. You should also watch out for mail-carriers and cats, as Canius' will start to growl and then attack them. They will also lap drinks, similar to dogs.

Dark Scent

You have a dog’s keen senses especially in the dark. You can smell in dim light within 60 feet of you. You can’t see anything, but you know where objects are, if you know the scent.

Canine Agility

Your reflexes and agility allow you to move with a burst of speed. When you move on your turn in combat, you can double your speed until the end of the turn. Once you use this trait, you can't use it again until you move 0 feet on one of your turns.

A Dog's Skill

You have proficiency in the Investigation and Performance skills. You get +2 to both of these skills.

Bite

Because of your dog snout and sharp teeth, you can Bite targets.
